Job summary

The Wellcome Sanger Institute invites applications for a Senior Laboratory Automation Specialist on a fixed-term 9-month contract to develop and deliver automated workflows at scale. You will lead projects from concept through validation and implementation, working with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience of laboratory automation and automated liquid handling.
• Experience developing, validating and implementing complex automated or high-throughput workflows.
• Ability to evaluate liquid handling and automation technologies using data and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation projects from concept through development, validation and implementation.
• Design and develop complex methods for automated liquid handling platforms.
• Evaluate automation technologies to identify appropriate approaches for scientific and operational needs.
• Integrate new technologies with LIMS and collaborate with external partners.
• Embed automated processes into Scientific Platforms and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to a culture of innovation.
