Job Summary

NetApp's Human Resources department is seeking an experienced labor relations specialist passionate about building and maintaining positive relationships with internal/external stakeholders, labor unions, works councils, government agencies, and industry associations across EMEA, especially in Germany.

This role involves leading strategic labor relations plans aligning with NetApp’s objectives, fostering constructive dialogue, and ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.

The ideal candidate will have employee relations investigation experience within the EMEA region, knowledge of employment law, expertise in case management and data utilization, and the ability to resolve conflicts independently while contributing to other HR projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Labor Relations and Conflict Resolution
  • Develop and implement in-country labor relations strategies, particularly in Germany, France, and the Netherlands.
  • Create clear, legally compliant documentation for labor relations activities, balancing fairness and transparency with efficiency.
  • Negotiate and execute collective agreements on various HR and business matters.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and internal partners, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Use metrics to enhance organizational health, improve processes, and proactively address labor issues.
  • Lead conflict resolution efforts, including mediations and arbitrations, effectively managing workplace disputes.
  • Approach employee relations with a pragmatic, can-do attitude.
  • Employee Relations Investigations and HR Work
    • Manage investigations related to employee misconduct, ensuring confidentiality and legal compliance.
    • Communicate findings, identify trends, and collaborate with HR and Legal teams.
    • Support compliance training, performance management, and employee separation processes.
    • Work with HRBPs to resolve employee issues transparently and effectively.
  • Job Requirements
    • Extensive knowledge of EMEA labor laws, especially in Germany, with successful negotiation experience with unions and works councils.
    • Proven ability to conduct thorough investigations and handle legal scrutiny.
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Ability to work independently, drive change, and assess legal and compliance risks.
    • Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
    • Experience in learning and development, performance management, and HR projects is highly valued.
  • Education
    • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
    • Bachelor’s or higher degree in HR, Business, Law, or related fields preferred.
    • Relevant certifications and industry memberships are advantageous.
