Job summary

Darwin Recruitment seeks a Senior KDB+/q Engineer for a 6-month freelance engagement in London. You will work on production KDB+/q platforms in capital markets, designing, building and scaling architectures, taking ownership from day one.

You will collaborate with client teams in Canary Wharf or City, in a partially remote model (2–3 days onsite per week), contributing to high-performance analytics in a demanding financial environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on KDB+/q engineering and delivery.
• Solid KDB fundamentals with production delivery experience.
• Experience designing and scaling KDB architectures in production.
• Experience in investment banks, capital markets or hedge funds recommended.
• Strong Unix/Linux and scripting skills; able to work independently.

Client Location - London, United Kingdom (City or Canary Wharf)

Remote work offering - Partially remote (2 to 3 days onsite a week)

Project focus

Key skills and Experience required
