Job summary

Vallum Associates in London is seeking a senior full stack engineer to design and maintain high-performance, real-time data infrastructure including kdb+/q systems and tick data pipelines.

You'll collaborate with trading desks and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions, optimize performance in Unix/Linux, and support onboarding to ensure platform reliability in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in full stack software development within enterprise-scale environments.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices and modern frontend development using React.js.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, integrating frontend with backend microservices and delivering end-to-end solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain large-scale, high-performance kdb+/q systems and real-time streaming time-series data infrastructure
• Build and support ultra-low-latency tick data capture pipelines, market data distribution systems and algorithmic trading order/execution data platforms
• Translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable global technology solutions through close collaboration with trading desks and cross-functional engineering teams
• Perform rigorous performance tuning, troubleshooting and infrastructure optimization in Unix/Linux environments
• Support knowledge transfer, technical onboarding and regional business hour coverage to ensure continuous platform reliability
