Job summary

Music Publishers Association (UK) is seeking a Joint Licensing Lead to oversee joint licensing agreements with MCPS, ensuring accurate negotiation, administration and reporting across complex ownership structures. The role supports governance and revenue-growth objectives while protecting members’ rights.

The successful candidate will provide mechanical rights expertise across licensing discussions, including GEOL, SVOD, UK Online and other joint licensing usage categories.

Qualifications

• Experience in music publishing, rights administration, royalties, licensing, or copyright management is essential for the role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical copyright, rights ownership, multi‑party licensing structures, and licensing governance.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, licensing portals, metadata standards, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of MCPS-led or joint licensing arrangements, ensuring decisions, pricing, and terms align with policy frameworks.
• Manage licensing terms across multiple rights holders and CMOs, ensuring alignment on scope and usage rights.
• Provide oversight to ensure MCPS governance and strategic positions are upheld in licensing outcomes.
• Negotiate mechanical rights aspects of joint licenses and reflect MCPS policies in terms.
• Contribute to licensing scheme development with market benchmarks and BI insights.
• Oversee accurate documentation, invoicing, revenue recognition, and royalty distribution for joint licenses.
