Job summary

Fynity is seeking a Senior Java Engineer for Financial Services in London. You’ll join a FinTech consultancy delivering platforms for Tier 1 financial institutions, focusing on high-performance, distributed systems and resilience.

Work hands-on with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka and MongoDB in an event-driven environment. You’ll collaborate with engineers, architects and client teams to design, test and deploy robust solutions in an Agile setup.

Qualifications

• Excellent commercial Java experience, ideally Java 17+.
• Strong knowledge of core Java fundamentals.
• Spring/Spring Boot and microservices experience.
• Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• MongoDB or NoSQL databases experience.
• Experience designing distributed, highly available systems.
• REST APIs and asynchronous architectures experience.
• TDD/BDD, CI/CD practices.
• Experience in Banking/Financial Services/FinTech.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Build scalable, event-driven microservices and distributed systems.
• Develop asynchronous, message-driven applications with Kafka.
• Work with MongoDB and other data technologies across high-volume platforms.
• Design clean, maintainable APIs and contribute to system design.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and client teams.
• Take ownership from development to production.
• Contribute to design discussions, code reviews and best practices.
• Work in Agile teams with TDD/BDD and CI/CD.
