Job summary

SR2 | Socially Responsible Recruitment | Certified B Corporation™ is hiring Senior Software Engineers for backend or fullstack Java roles. The position is remote-first with occasional client-site visits (about 2 days per month) across the UK.

You will work in an Agile team building mission-critical software for central government and AI initiatives, with real-world impact and ownership of technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• CI/CD tooling experience (GitLab preferred).
• Strong software design, development and testing knowledge.
• Comfort with the full software development lifecycle.
• Ability to mentor engineers and take ownership of technical work.

Responsibilities

• Contribute across the full software lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Mentor engineers and share technical leadership with clients.
• Implement robust, scalable backend or full‑stack solutions.
