Job summary

Adaptive, a technology provider for capital markets, seeks a Senior Java / Systems Engineer with Platform Exchange experience to design, deliver, and optimise high-performance, low-latency software using Aeron for production readiness.

You will design, build and optimise Java services across the delivery lifecycle, define models and exchange boundaries, and collaborate with client teams, SREs, QA and leadership to ensure durable production fixes and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Strong server-side, low-latency Java expertise with concurrency and I/O performance focus.
• Solid exchange, risk, or matching-engine experience.
• Experience with automated testing, benchmarking, and production issue diagnosis.
• Excellent technical communication and collaboration across domains.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise low-latency Java services and protocols for an Exchange Accelerator product.
• Define order, session, instrument, and account models and exchange integration boundaries.
• Develop automated testing strategies and perform evidence-based performance benchmarking.
• Collaborate with client teams, SREs, QA, and leadership for production readiness.
