Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to shape the future of payments technology. You will spend most of your time writing, reviewing, and shipping production code, not managing from the sidelines.

You will lead by example, raising the technical bar and coaching engineers so the squad delivers better outcomes. Expect ~70% deep technical work and ~30% leadership, mentoring, and direction-setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science.
• Hands-on experience in system design, development, testing and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Proficiency in automation and CI/CD.
• Strong SDLC understanding and agile experience.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with AI/ML tools or related tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute innovative software solutions and technical troubleshooting.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others' code.
• Automate remediation and improve operational stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architecture.
