Job summary

Fynity is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join a FinTech consultancy delivering high-performance, distributed platforms for Tier 1 financial institutions. You will stay hands-on and work with experienced engineers, architects and client teams to build scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes deep Java engineering, microservices, event-driven architectures and modern CI/CD practices in a hybrid London-based setup. Strong FS, Banking, or Payments backgrounds are valued.

Qualifications

• Strong Java experience with solid fundamentals and modern Java versions.
• Experience with Spring/Spring Boot in microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in event-driven systems.
• MongoDB or comparable NoSQL databases in high-volume platforms.
• Designing and consuming RESTful APIs and asynchronous messaging patterns.
• Proven ability to build distributed, highly available systems.
• Familiarity with TDD/BDD and modern CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Build scalable, event-driven microservices and distributed systems.
• Develop asynchronous, message-driven apps with Kafka.
• Work with MongoDB and other NoSQL data stores on high-volume platforms.
• Design clean, maintainable APIs and contribute to system design.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and client teams to solve complex problems.
• Take ownership from development through testing to production delivery.
• Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews and best practices.
• Work in Agile teams following TDD/BDD and CI/CD processes.
