Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Software Engineer III for the Macro eTrading team in London. You will design and deliver real-time, low-latency trading components and support scalable systems across FX, Rates, Commodities, Credit and ETFs.

You will work with 20 developers globally, using enterprise AI tooling to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation. The role emphasizes secure, resilient software, performance tuning, and collaboration with trading partners to ensure highly available platforms.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience in Java.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with demonstrated ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems.
• Design, develop, and maintain electronic trading components.
• Use low-level programming techniques to produce highly optimized, low-latency trading software.
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality, speed, and productivity, with peer review and secure coding standards.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools to improve automation and value realization.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints are met by code.
• Gathers, analyzes, and visualizes data from large datasets to improve software systems.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems in data to drive coding hygiene and architecture improvements.
