Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking world-class technologists for the Macro e-trading platform in London.

As a Software Engineer III, you will join a global team to design, develop, and operate high-availability, low-latency trading components and supporting systems. You will work with 20+ developers worldwide, collaborating with trading partners to deliver market-leading technology in a secure, scalable manner, while applying AI-assisted tooling and responsible AI practices to improve delivery

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience in Java
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
Strong Linux/Unix, and knowledge of networking topologies, TCP + UDP
Low latency middleware, e.g. Informatica Ultra Messaging
Knowledge of the FIX protocol (e.g. QuickFIX/J)
Experience with automated testing and CI/CD (e.g. JUnit, Cucumber, Maven, Jenkins)
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with ability to evaluate, validate, and refine outputs
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and resiliency and security expectations
Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Collaborative, detail-oriented and quick learner; able to analyse and fix problems quickly, both independently and within a global team

Responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and debugging with ability to tackle complex problems
Design, develop, and maintain electronic trading components
Use low-level programming techniques to produce highly optimized, low-latency trading software
Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity with peer review and secure coding
Applies SDLC tooling knowledge to improve automation value
Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications
Gathers and visualizes data for continuous improvement of software applications
Proactively identifies patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture
