Job summary

McCabe & Barton is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a boutique consultancy delivering a greenfield FX trading platform in a front-office context. You will work on-site in Central London, building a new platform from the ground up, with emphasis on Order Management and Trade Capture capabilities.

You should bring strong Java expertise in financial services, experience with low-latency, event-driven systems, APIs and messaging, and a passion for high-quality, performant software engineering

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java development experience in financial services, front-office preferred.
• Experience building trading systems, especially Order Management or Trade Capture.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, distributed systems and architecture.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, APIs and messaging.

Senior Java Developer | Front Office FX Trading | Greenfield Build

Location: Central London, on-site with the client four to five days a week

Salary: £130,000 to £150,000 base + bonus and benefits

A dynamic technology consultancy with strong financial backing is looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join its team on a permanent basis, working on site with a leading pensions fund to build a new Java trading platform.

The platform is being built from the ground up, initially focusing on Order Management and Trade Capture, starting with cash FX before expanding across the wider FX product range and other asset classes.

About You

• Strong hands-on Java development experience within financial services, ideally in a front office environment.
• Experience developing trading systems, particularly Order Management or Trade Capture applications.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, distributed systems and application architecture.
• Experience with event-driven systems, APIs and messaging technologies.
• A strong interest in modern Java development, performance optimisation and building high-quality software.
