Job summary

Morson Group is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a large-scale cloud-first transformation programme delivering public-facing services used by millions across the UK. The role is hybrid with 60% office attendance at major UK hubs (excluding London) and inside IR35; BPSS required with SC desirable.

You will own, investigate and drive engineering decisions beyond ticket work, shaping architecture and collaborating with product teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive Java development experience within AWS cloud environments.
• Experience building modern cloud services using Java and Node.js.
• Strong understanding of APIs, RESTful services and microservice architectures.
• Experience developing event-driven solutions using Kafka.
• Containerisation experience using Docker.
• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform or similar tools.
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI.
• Strong experience with TDD and BDD approaches.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively and overcome blockers.
• Knowledge of secure software engineering practices, deployment strategies and vulnerability management.
