Job summary

Citi is seeking a Java Developer AVP in Belfast for a hybrid role (up to 2 days at home per week). You will help build and maintain Java applications that power our trading platforms, focusing on performance, reliability and scalable REST APIs with secure authentication.

Work with global teams across time zones, contribute to design sessions, and apply best practices in an evolving SDLC with mentoring and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Java development experience.
• Experience with REST APIs and OAuth/Basic Auth.
• Messaging systems experience (Kafka preferred).
• SQL databases (Oracle/SQL Server/DB2).
• Distributed systems and microservices knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Platform support and enhancement for trading-related applications.
• Participate in design sessions with global teams.
• Adopt new development tools and SDLC practices.
• Improve application design, architecture and efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shape requirements and fixes.
• Produce user documentation and ensure performance/scalability.
