THE OPPORTUNITY

Take part in a main Defence project, on a key product used for operational information and enhanced situational awareness.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Experience in Java development, underpinned by strong software design principles.
  2. Proven track record in a senior role within a software development team, or a strong aspiration to take on such a role, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  3. In-depth knowledge of configuration management, change control processes, and continuous integration tools such as Jenkins.
  4. Passionate about writing clean, maintainable code.

Additional skills and experience that would be advantageous include:

  1. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM.
  2. Knowledge of geospatial platforms such as Luciad or ESRI.
  3. Use of continuous integration and automated testing tools.
  4. Understanding of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and UX design principles.
  5. Background in military software development.
  6. Experience working with relational databases and proficiency in SQL.
  7. Customer-focused approach.
  8. Strong team collaboration.
  9. Drive for innovation.
  10. Commitment to personal and professional development.
  11. Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
  12. Consideration will also be given to candidates with equivalent industry experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
