About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our Digital Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge digital investment products that cater to both end clients and institutional investors. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and robust software solutions that drive digital transformation within the financial services industry.

You will be required to work from 2 pm to 10 pm to support coverage for some of our key time zones.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-performance Java-based applications and microservices for digital investment products.
2. Collaborate closely with product management, UX/UI designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software that meets client requirements.
3. Drive the adoption of best practices in coding, testing, and software architecture to ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and scalability.
4. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
5. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, promoting continuous learning and professional development within the team.
6. Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to established coding standards and architectural guidelines.
7. Stay updated with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends to continuously improve SS&C's digital product offerings.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack, ensuring minimal disruption to the business.
9. Contribute to the strategic planning of the Digital Development function, identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvement.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Java development, with a focus on building enterprise-level applications.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud), and RESTful API design.
• Proven experience in designing and developing microservices architectures.
• Deep understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., Angular, React) and how they integrate with back-end services.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proficient in database design and development, including experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in investment management or fintech.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Git.
