Role

We are seeking a developer to work within the EMEA equities front office technology group based in London to support and develop our 2 primary platforms; GETS (trade processing) and CRB (Quantitative trading).

The candidate would have experience working in an equities front office trading environment, including directly interacting with the trading desks. Tasks would include monitoring the live platforms, providing support for the trading desk, investigating and fixing issues in the production environment, alongside the development of new functionality/workflows.

The candidate will require experience programming in Java. Ideally, additional exposure/experience in one of the following languages C++/Python would be an advantage.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate a solid mathematical understanding, good analytical skills, an enthusiasm to learn new technical/business skills, and a logical approach to problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and extend the GETS and CRB platforms.
2. Provide front line support for the CRB trading desk.
3. Assist in the design and implementation of hedging strategies for the CRB desk.

Person Specification

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

1. Solid experience in Java and a willingness to learn C++.
2. Experience of building multi-threaded, low latency Java applications.
3. Experience with multicast and distributed applications is an advantage.
4. Experience with FIX protocol is a desirable skill but not essential.
5. Experience with Fidessa is also advantageous.
6. Previous experience working in an Equities front office environment and/or a quant/analytics role is a distinct advantage.
7. Strong data manipulation and familiarity with analyzing large data sets.
8. Genuine interest in equities and financial markets.
9. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and energy in approach to new problems.
10. Collaborative approach to decision making, together with the ability to work independently.
