Responsibilities

A successful Senior Java Developer at Fiserv will be integral to the EMEA Experience domain’s application development team, creating and maintaining a robust digital platform for global customers. Utilising Java and SpringBoot, you'll design, build, and deploy microservices with advanced Spring components, JPA/Hibernate ORM, and integrate cutting-edge front-end technologies like Angular and Typescript. Ensuring high-quality, secure code through security scanning using tools like SonarQube, Fortify, Sonatype and collaborating via Gitlab and Atlassian suite, you'll contribute to a seamless, central access point for business management.

What you will be doing?

1. You will join one of our scrum teams working on our product backlog as Senior Java Developer. Each team is composed of at least one UI Developer, Java API Developer, Business Analyst, QA and Scrum Master. You will closely cooperate with other team members to deliver product increments each sprint.
2. On a day-to-day basis you will:
1. work with Business Analyst to make sure that requirements are clear for you and the team
2. contribute and add new features, resolve bugs and refactor / improve the code base
3. collaborate with the UI developers on integration of new/modified API endpoints with newly created UI
4. cover implemented API changes with unit and e2e tests
5. perform code review for peer developers
6. cooperate with QAs to ensure high quality of software delivered
7. You will work closely with other Java developers on a shared code base implementing continuous improvements to the application.

Who are we looking for?

1. The successful candidate should have experience working in a collaborative agile environment, in a scrum team and be familiar with Agile Scrum principles. A degree/diploma in a Computer Science or in a relevant field or similar work experience is required.
2. Proven experience in a similar role (6+ years) with strong experience in Java.
3. Experience with Spring components like Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Integration, Spring Data JPA, Spring Data Redis, Spring Data Mongodb, Apache Camel
4. Strong understanding of integration with backend data systems (Oracle DB, JPA/Hibernate, NoSQL Databases eg. Redis, DocumentDB)
5. Strong knowledge of RESTful API design
6. Experience / understanding of DevOps principles and experience with a cloud platform: AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
7. Experience in run time build and deployment technologies as well as project tool leg eclipse, InteliJ, GitLab, JIRA and Confluence
8. Comfortable writing developer tests (JUnit with Mockito, Spock)
