Job summary

Avanti Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Java Fullstack Engineer to join a renowned software company in Central London. The role is hybrid, with 2 days in the office weekly, and a salary up to £75,000 depending on experience.

You will design, develop and enhance enterprise scale software, working across backend Java/Spring Boot and frontend Angular/React/Vue.js. Expect significant exposure to microservices, REST APIs, CI/CD and cloud platforms.

Java / Angular Fullstack Developer

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Central London

Working Arrangement: Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office

Avanti Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Senior Java Fullstack Engineer to join an established, internationally recognised software company based in Central London.

The company develops complex, business-critical enterprise software used by major organisations internationally. Their products support high-volume transactions and essential business operations, providing engineers with the opportunity to work on technically challenging, large-scale applications.

This is an opportunity to join an established engineering team, working on large-scale enterprise applications, with a strong focus on modern technologies, software development and continuous product improvement.

This is a hands on individual contributor position, ideal for someone who wants to remain technically focused rather than move into people management, whilst working across backend and frontend.

The position would suit a Senior Full Stack Developer or a strong mid-level engineer ready to take the next step in their career.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for designing, developing and enhancing the company’s core software products, working closely with other developers, architects and project managers to deliver robust, scalable and maintainable solutions.

The company is investing in the continued modernisation of its software platforms, introducing new versions of Java, Springboot, Angular, REST APIs and Microservices. You’ll work across both existing systems and new development, helping improve scalability, performance and maintainability while contributing to technical design discussions.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing Microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Commercial frontend development experience with Angular, React or Vue.js.
• Good understanding of relational databases and the ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes or OpenShift
• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns and object-oriented programming.
• Experience developing and maintaining complex enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with Git, testing, debugging and modern software development practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to discuss technical implementations in depth.
• Comfortable working across both frontend and backend development.

Angular is the preferred frontend framework, but developers with React or Vue experience who are willing to learn Angular will also be considered.

Desirable Skills

• Cloud technologies and DevOps/CI/CD pipelines.
• Jenkins, Maven and other build tools.
• Experience with J2EE, JBoss or legacy enterprise systems.
• Experience with large-scale transactional systems, billing platforms or telecommunications software.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

Telecommunications experience is desired, but not essential.

Interview process

• 1st – Video call – 30minutes
• 2nd (Final) – Face to face interview 2.5 hours (technical focused)
