Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a Java Server-Side Application Engineer in Manchester to design, develop, and integrate backend services and databases, translating requirements into scalable solutions. You will work on API-driven architectures, mentor teammates, and participate in code reviews across the life cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in server-side Java development and API management.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS) and modern backend frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain server-side Java applications and APIs.
• Design, implement, and optimize backend services and database schemas.
