Citi is seeking a skilled Java developer to join its Event Master Central team in a hybrid working model. You will design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services, with focus on clean coding and robust tests.

You will work in a collaborative environment, handle CI/CD pipelines, manage source control with Git/Bitbucket, and optimize SQL queries while applying best practices in OOP and design patterns.

About the team:

Event Master Central is Citi’s centralized corporate action event repository and distribution platform that consolidates corporate action announcements and notifications from various vendors with cross-business operational process. As a critical pillar within the Master Reference Data (MRD) and the broader Citi Enterprise Data Organization (EDO), our team is responsible for modernizing and managing the end-to-end lifecycle of corporate Action events across the enterprise.

What you will do:

• Develop and implement complex software solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services.


• Design, develop, and maintain robust microservices adhering to architectural best practices.


• Apply hands‑on expertise in Core Java, including multi-threading and the Collections framework.


• Utilize Spring Framework effectively for application development.


• Work extensively in creating and optimizing SQL queries.


• Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices, object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, and design patterns.


• Contribute to the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.


• Manage source code effectively using tools such as Git or Bitbucket.


• Promote and apply clean coding principles and maintain high quality using tools like Sonar.


• Design and implement comprehensive unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure solution quality.


• Analyze and solve complex technical problems efficiently.


• Work with a team of application developers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Skills and Experience required:

• Experience in developing and implementing complex software solutions.


• Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services (XML, JSON).


• Proven experience working with Microservices Architecture.


• Hands‑on experience with Core Java, Multi-threading, Collections framework, and Spring Framework.


• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, OOP, design patterns, and CI/CD pipelines.


• Experience with source code management tools (Git).


• Understanding of clean coding principles and code quality measurements using tools like Sonar.


• Demonstrated ability to design and implement unit, integration, and functional tests.


• A strong, solution-driven mindset with the ability to analyze complex problems, devise strategic solutions, and lead their implementation.


• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Advantages:

• Understanding of Cloud-native development principles.


• Experience with Container Orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.).
