The role

As a Senior IT Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be instrumental in supporting the digital transformation of defence operations. You’ll help ensure Members of the Armed Forces and their Tier 1 Industry Partners are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to use secure applications effectively.

Day-to-day, you’ll be collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver impactful training solutions that make a real difference to national defence and your career development.

  • Collaborating with teams to develop training content for secure applications used by defence personnel and partners
  • Conducting training needs analysis to identify knowledge gaps
  • Delivering training courses virtually or in person using corporate project management applications
  • Drafting and maintaining training documentation and lesson plans
  • Reviewing training content and securing customer approval to meet requirements

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home and occasional travel to Leicester, Plymouth and Rosyth.

Essential experience of the Senior IT Trainer

  • Designing, creating and reviewing training materials, including e-learning resources
  • Explaining complex technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Confidently delivering training sessions and presentations
  • Using strong interpersonal and active listening skills to facilitate learning
  • Understanding customer needs and applying a customer-focused approach

Qualifications for the Senior IT Trainer

  • Level 3 Award in Education & Training or equivalent training qualification
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
