Overview

The role - Senior IT Systems Administrator

You will have a varied and challenging role supporting all stakeholder groups within a busy manufacturing environment and will be responsible for ensuring robust, secure, and efficient IT systems are effectively maintained across manufacturing, warehousing and office functions.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring all IT systems and infrastructure are effectively developed and maintained to meet all organisational and operational requirements
  • Manage and maintain all IT infrastructure across companywide manufacturing sites, including servers, industrial PCs and networked production equipment
  • Support ERP integrations
  • Ensure high availability of systems supporting production lines, including real-time monitoring and rapid incident response
  • Implement and manage highly effective cybersecurity measures across all IT and associated equipment infrastructure
  • Lead system upgrades and patching with minimal disruption to production schedules
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to align IT systems with lean manufacturing goals
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, SOPs, and compliance audits
  • Work closely and cross-functionally with company systems development and security teams
  • Ensure highly effective relationships are maintained with external suppliers and all associated stakeholder groups
Qualifications

Ideally degree qualified within a Computer Science or associated subject, you will have a wealth of experience as an IT Systems professional, ideally within a highly regulated manufacturing / production environment. Possessing excellent communication skills, you will be able to demonstrate proven experience in leading and managing companywide IT systems operational management, ensuring the highest standards of systems availability and performance are consistently maintained. You will have a strong working knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, cloud platforms and be well versed with industrial networking e.g., VLANs, Modbus TCP/IP etc. Functional familiarity with SAP systems and proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools would be a distinct advantage.
