VIQU Limited are partnering with a growing construction group to recruit a Senior IT Support Engineer to join its in-house IT team at Farringdon, London. This broad second and third line role offers infrastructure ownership across multi-site environments, covering Microsoft technologies, networking, endpoints and servers, plus site deployments.

The role suits problem-solvers who enjoy end-to-end resolution and want varied exposure beyond ticket-focused support; travel to sites is required.

Qualifications

• Experience owning infrastructure and resolving 2nd/3rd line issues independently.
• Hands-on Windows Server and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Strong networking fundamentals across multi-site environments.
• Willingness to travel regularly; full UK driving licence.
• Experience with site deployments/ mobility is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of second and third line escalations, resolving complex issues through to completion.
• Deliver IT for new site mobilisations/demobilisations, including connectivity, network configuration, segmentation and provisioning.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Conditional Access and Intune across multiple environments.
• Manage Windows endpoint estate, imaging, deployment, patching and SCCM to Intune co-management transition.
• Maintain Windows Server and Hyper-V infrastructure: builds, patching, backup and recovery.
• Support and develop networking across offices/sites: switching, firewalls, VPNs, site connectivity.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects from scoping to delivery and handover with third-party suppliers.
• Maintain accurate service desk, asset and technical documentation.

Senior IT Support Engineer
Farringdon, London - Onsite (5 days per week, with regular travel to offices and sites)
£40,000 - £50,000 + £4,000 car allowance

VIQU are partnering with a growing construction group looking to recruit a Senior IT Support Engineer to join its in-house IT team. This is a broad second and third line position offering genuine infrastructure ownership across a multi-site environment, covering Microsoft technologies, networking, endpoints and servers alongside new site deployments and wider infrastructure projects. The role would suit someone who enjoys taking technical problems through to resolution and wants exposure to a varied estate rather than a traditional ticket-focused support position.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior IT Support Engineer:

• Take ownership of second and third line escalations, resolving complex technical issues through to completion and addressing recurring problems at source.
• Deliver IT for new site mobilisations and demobilisations, including connectivity, network configuration, segmentation and equipment provisioning.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Conditional Access and Intune across multiple environments.
• Manage the Windows endpoint estate, including imaging, application deployment, patching, compliance and the ongoing transition from SCCM to Intune co-management.
• Maintain Windows Server and Hyper-V infrastructure, covering builds, patching, backup and recovery.
• Support and develop networking across offices and sites, including switching, firewalls, wireless, VPNs and site connectivity.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects from initial scoping through to delivery and handover, working directly with third-party suppliers where required.
• Maintain accurate service desk, asset and technical documentation while sharing knowledge across the wider IT team.

Key Experience Required of the Senior IT Support Engineer:

• Demonstrable experience taking ownership of infrastructure and resolving second and third line issues independently rather than routinely escalating them.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environments..
• Solid networking fundamentals with the ability to troubleshoot issues across multi-site environments.
• Comfortable engaging directly with technical suppliers and challenging delivery where necessary.
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage several technical workstreams simultaneously.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to offices and construction sites.
• Relevant technical certifications are desirable but not essential, and previous construction industry experience is not required.
