Job summary

Abacus Careers is seeking an experienced IT Internal Auditor to join a collaborative international Internal Audit team. You will lead complex technology audits across cloud, AI and security, partnering with senior stakeholders to strengthen governance and risk management.

Based in Central London with a hybrid working pattern, the role offers exposure to a global technology environment and opportunities to influence audit practices through innovative approaches, including AI-enabled tooling.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Security, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, QICA or SSCP desired.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in IT Audit and Cybersecurity.
• Ability to undertake up to 10% international travel.
• Hybrid work with at least one day per week in Central London office.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, delivery and reporting of complex IT, cybersecurity and technology audits.
• Deliver audits across cloud platforms, AI, IT governance, infrastructure, applications and security.
• Define risk-based audit scopes, develop audit programmes and manage engagements from planning through to completion.
• Conduct audit testing, validate findings and agree practical risk mitigation actions with stakeholders.
• Produce clear, commercially focused audit reports with actionable recommendations.
• Support annual audit planning, audit committee reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with technology teams, business leaders and Internal Audit colleagues.
• Coach team members while promoting innovation, including the use of AI tools to enhance audit delivery.
