Senior IT Infrastructure Manager with strong operational IT experience in areas including IT infrastructure & cloud-based applications in AWS is required by a leading company in central Manchester.

This role is primarily operational and hands-on, focusing on day-to-day IT activities rather than strategic planning. Candidates must have good AWS knowledge, along with standard IT infrastructure experience in Cisco and the Microsoft stack.

The ideal candidate will be technically proficient in AWS, capable of engaging with Cloud and DevOps Engineers on a technical level, and able to lead the IT infrastructure team around AWS.

It is a hands-on role, requiring someone not afraid to get involved in projects. The environment is flexible, requiring adaptability to change.

The career path for this role is to become the Global Head of IT. Join their new Manchester office and support the execution of their IT strategy, working closely with the CTO on a global scale.

Experience Required

• Experience in a senior IT role such as Head of IT, Head of IT Operations, or Senior IT Infrastructure Manager
• Operational experience in AWS, Cisco, and Microsoft infrastructure
• Ability to manage and develop cross-functional IT teams
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and operations management
• Experience managing global teams is a plus
• Proven ability to lead large-scale IT projects
• IT security experience is desirable

The successful candidate will oversee daily IT operations, maintain high service standards, and drive innovation in a cloud-based AWS infrastructure on a global scale. The role involves managing a team of 5+ and building an IT team in the UK and abroad in the future.

The Role

• Manage IT operations in line with company goals, ensuring timely delivery of projects in an AWS cloud environment
• Mentor and lead the IT team supporting infrastructure, networking, security, and applications
• Ensure efficient IT service delivery across multiple global offices
• Oversee IT services within AWS, Microsoft, and Cisco environments, ensuring SLA compliance
• Lead IT infrastructure and security initiatives to ensure system robustness
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement IT strategies

This position is based in central Manchester, with an expectation of being in the office most of the time. The salary range is £65,000 - £75,000 plus benefits.
