Job Description:

The Senior IT & Cloud Security Architect plays an essential role in protecting business operations within Avient Corporation, a global leader in innovative polymer materials, services, and solutions. You will participate in several projects that are critical to data protection, vulnerability management, cyber-incident response, asset classification, policy and procedure development, creation of security newsletters and articles, and more.

As part of the role, you will:

1. Facilitate proof of concepts to help drive operational enablement of emerging technologies, recommending patterns for adoption or decline based on non-functional requirements.
2. Assist in defining and driving the strategic vision for the Cloud environment ecosystem.
3. Enable teams to work within standards by specifying approved tools and technologies.
4. Develop and maintain vendor relationships for new and existing technologies.
5. Support educational participation across operations for technical enablement of teams adopting new technology.
6. Participate in or supervise embedded teams in larger enterprise projects to meet strategic initiatives.
7. Determine and prioritize processes for recoverability, fail-over, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
8. Specify operational objectives including SLAs and KPIs for availability, performance, and security.
9. Promote technology and processes that deliver positive ROI and value to customers.
10. Determine RTO and RPO objectives and devise improvement strategies.
11. Participate in architectural design with team members and software architects, encouraging shared design practices.
12. Provide technical escalation support across deployed platforms, liaising with development, support, infrastructure, and security teams.
13. Provide technical direction and clarify requirements to software development, integration, and testing teams.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by the business.

Education and Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience applying architectural frameworks (e.g., SAFe, CSTAR, TOGAF, SABSA, BSIMM).
• Understanding of Information Assurance Frameworks (e.g., CIS, CSA-CCM, NIST, ISO, PCI).
• Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft platforms and technologies (e.g., Azure, Office365, Windows 365, Sentinel).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, AWS, SAP-HANA.
• Extensive experience in Networks, Data Centre Systems, and cloud architecture, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS security.
• Knowledge of networking, routing, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, IP, IDS/IPS, Encryption.
• Experience with threat modelling and security-by-design techniques.
• Ability to identify cybersecurity risks and develop mitigations.
• Stakeholder engagement skills, technical and non-technical.
• Ability to make security recommendations aligned with business needs.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Passion for cybersecurity and knowledge sharing.
• Experience in testing and reporting on system security.
