Your future plans

As an IT Architect - Connectivity, Network Security & Unified Communication (Sen.), you will play a central role at RWE in implementing a future-proof network and UC architecture across over 250 locations. You will work on aligning the network and UC landscape with the company's strategic goals, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

You will be part of the "Connectivity and Unified Communication" department, responsible for network operations, maintenance, support, design, implementation, and infrastructure development for the entire group.

1. Define IT architecture by balancing business needs, strategic value, and technological future-proofing, ensuring optimal IT landscape development.
2. Manage architecture: approval processes, documentation, roadmaps, governance, and representation in architecture forums.
3. Conduct technology and market scouting.
4. Consult with subject matter experts on solution design.
5. Support governance, risk, compliance, and IT security alignments.
6. Assist with integration topics outside the MFP-C domain.
7. Interface with business partners, IT portfolio management, and stakeholders regarding architecture.
8. Consult on business cases or tenders for new projects, technologies, or suppliers.
9. Prototype new technologies.

Qualifications:

• Several years of experience in network technologies, cloud (Azure & AWS), unified communications, and managing partners/providers.
• Excellent knowledge of cloud network services, including Zero Trust Network Access.
• Expertise in telephony, collaboration tools (chat, voice, video conferencing), and media services.
• Understanding of services like IPAM, DNS, and domain management.
• Strong end-to-end understanding of network & connectivity.
• Goal-oriented, analytical, organizational, and solution-focused skills.
• Strong interpersonal and methodological skills, with business fluency in English and German, and willingness to travel.

Advantages (not mandatory):

• Experience with hybrid cloud networking.
• Knowledge of on-premise networking (willing to learn).
• Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Python, AzureDevOps.
• Cloud certifications such as Azure Network Engineer Associate or AWS Advanced Networking.
