Job summary

Air Apps, a Lisbon-based, fully onsite employer, seeks a Senior Mobile Software Architect to lead iOS architecture and mobile strategy. You will collaborate with product, design and engineering to craft scalable solutions for a global user base and mentor engineers across teams.

You will influence long-term mobile evolution, work with Apple-focused tooling, and drive performance, security and deployment practices in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of mobile development with an architectural mindset.
• Expertise in iOS development using Swift; Obj-C a plus.
• Proficient in UIKit, SwiftUI, Combine and modern iOS patterns.
• Experience with performance optimization, modularization, offline-first.
• Android knowledge (Kotlin/Java) is a strong plus.
• Experience integrating with APIs, data storage, caching and background tasks.
• Knowledge of App Store submission, mobile security and compliance.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and deployment automation.
• Strong communication to explain architecture to technical and non-technical peers.
• Passion for clean code, design patterns (MVVM, VIPER), and scalable architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the mobile architecture strategy for scalable projects.
• Focus on iOS architecture, libraries, and platform-specific patterns.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and product managers for alignment.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns and performance guidelines.
• Lead architectural reviews and guide refactoring and scaling.
• Design APIs, SDKs, and modular components reusable across teams.
• Guide decisions on third-party libraries, tooling, and pipelines.
• Partner with backend and cloud teams for seamless integration.
• Stay current with trends in mobile architecture, performance and security.
• Mentor mobile engineers and elevate the team’s technical proficiency.
