The Economist is seeking a Software Engineer, iOS, to help build and improve our mobile applications. You will contribute to delivering reliable, high-quality features while growing your expertise in native iOS development.

You will work in a collaborative, remote-first environment alongside experienced engineers, contributing to both new features and ongoing improvements to the app in a hybrid pattern with regular in-office days.

Qualifications

• Experience in iOS development.
• Proficiency in Swift and iOS frameworks (SwiftUI/ UIKit).
• Experience building and shipping mobile applications.
• Understanding of mobile development fundamentals and UI patterns.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and backend integration.
• Experience with testing practices and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain iOS applications using Swift and modern frameworks.
• Build user interfaces and features in collaboration with Product and Design.
• Contribute to application architecture and code quality within the team.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Debug issues and improve application performance and stability.
• Participate in code reviews and engineering practices.
• Work with backend services and APIs to deliver end-to-end functionality.
• Support testing, release, and CI/CD processes.
