Job summary

Archer is seeking an experienced Senior iOS Engineer to own the iOS app of a mature consumer product used daily by real users. You’ll work with a small expert team to ship high-quality features across iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, while integrating AI-driven aviation tools.

You’ll collaborate with design and backend teams, optimize performance, and ensure robust end-to-end delivery in a fast-growing aerospace software environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial iOS development and full app lifecycle experience
• Proficient in Swift and Objective-C
• Strong knowledge of SwiftUI, UIKit, MapKit and core Apple frameworks
• Experience integrating REST APIs and understanding API design
• Solid iOS build systems, provisioning, certificates, and App Store requirements
• Proficient in Git version control

Archer is best known for Midnight, our electric aircraft. This role isn't on that program. The AI Products Org builds consumer software for the general aviation industry. There's a lot we're not ready to talk about publicly yet, so this posting stays vague on purpose. What we can say: the products are real, they ship, and people use them every day. As the Senior iOS Engineer, you'll own the iOS app of a mature consumer product — one that's been featured in the app stores multiple times and has a real user base that opens it every day. You will join a small, expert team with big ambitions, directly shaping an end-to-end product that blends artificial intelligence, aviation expertise, and seamless mobile user experience while partnering closely with our in-house designers. You'll turn complex design concepts into seamless, shippable code and help steer the future of our digital flight tools.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop scalable, high-performance features for iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS
• Partner with designers to build intuitive UI/UX that follows platform best practices
• Refactor and modularize Swift and Objective-C code to improve quality and reusability

• Manage the full app lifecycle, including builds, certificates, and App Store submissions

• Collaborate with our Backend Engineering Teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure seamless end-to-end integration

What You Need:

• 3+ years of commercial software development experience, including the full iOS app lifecycle management
• Experience writing both Swift and Objective-C
• Strong knowledge of SwiftUI, UIKit, and other core Apple frameworks (specifically MapKit or similar mapping SDKs)
• Experience integrating REST APIs, with enough backend understanding to troubleshoot issues and contribute to API design
• Strong understanding of iOS build systems, provisioning, certificates, and App Store requirements
• Strong proficiency in Git

Bonus Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience in one (or all) of the following would be advantageous:
  • Aviation
  • Network-driven application development
  • Experience working with Metal or OpenGL
