About the role

NFU Mutual is seeking a Senior Investment Administrator to join our fast-paced and collaborative Investment Operations Team on a permanent, full-time basis. If you thrive on accuracy, enjoy leading by example, and love solving problems, this could be the perfect role for you.

As Senior Investment Administrator, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing our investment administration processes. You'll also act as a role model to other Administrators in the team, authorising, guiding and providing advice on investment-related activities in accordance with policies and procedures to meet statutory, regulatory and group requirements and standards, all the while ensuring a first-class service is delivered.

You'll authorise complex transactions and serve as the go-to expert for resolving escalated issues from internal stakeholders.

Additional duties include:
  • Authorise and verify investment trades, income, and cash transactions in line with policy and SLAs.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for queries from custodians, brokers, and auditors.
  • Manage complex investment transactions and reporting, including corporate actions.
  • Monitor operational cash and provide insights to front-office teams.
  • Oversee valuations, reconciliations, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Full training on investment operations will be provided, and you'll be greatly supported in obtaining an industry recognised certification, Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) within 12 months of joining.

A sharp eye for detail will ensure accuracy in everything you do, while strong prioritisation skills will help you balance multiple responsibilities without compromising on quality.

Further skills and experience required:
  • Strong numeracy skills, with a particular emphasis on fractions, ratios and percentages. (essential)
  • Proficient IT and MS Office skills (essential)
  • Existing administrative experience (desirable)
  • Experience within investments (desirable)
  • A keen interest in investments and stock markets (essential)
