The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is establishing the new Building Division (BSD) with the goal of maintaining high safety standards in high-rise buildings and ensuring residents' safety. BSD will work with residents and industry stakeholders to improve the safety and performance of all buildings and enhance industry professional standards annually. This division honors those who have lost their lives due to poor building safety, such as in the Grenfell tragedy, and aims to prevent such incidents in the future. As BSD's authority expands, we will grow our team, offering opportunities for both technical specialists and non-specialists.
As an Investigator within the Regulation of Building Control Profession, your responsibilities will include conducting investigations and enforcement actions to ensure that building control professionals and organizations comply with regulations. The successful candidate will lead, plan, and execute investigations into complaints and allegations, and prepare materials for enforcement actions, criminal and misconduct trials, and related appeals. Recent experience in criminal and civil investigations is required.
