Job description

About This Opportunity

Ericsson is looking for an exceptional investigations lawyer to join Global Investigations & Operations (GIO), part of Corporate & Government Investigations (CGI) within Group Legal and Compliance. CGI investigates potential legal, regulatory and compliance violations across Ericsson’s global business. This role sits at the centre of that work: protecting integrity, supporting accountability and helping Ericsson make sound decisions on sensitive, high-risk matters.

We are looking for someone with sharp legal judgment, strong analytical instincts and the ability to think holistically when the facts are complex, the risks are significant and the answers are not obvious. This is a role for a lawyer who is curious, growth-minded and comfortable with ambiguity; someone who works well with others to reach sound, good-quality decisions.

Reporting to the Head of Global Investigations & Operations, you will work across Ericsson to assess allegations, lead and oversee investigations, support remediation and strengthen investigations practice globally. You will be expected to think broadly, bring a global lens to every interaction and work across functions rather than in silos.

The role is hybrid, with an office-first expectation of approximately 60% in the office. The preferred location is London, although other European locations near an Ericsson office may be considered.

What You Will Do
  • Advise on sensitive, complex and cross-border investigations, bringing a broad, global perspective to matters involving senior stakeholders, the Audit & Compliance Committee and external authorities.
  • Lead internal investigations into potential Code of Business Ethics violations in a fair, robust, timely and legally sound way.
  • Connect information across regions, functions and matters to support joined-up thinking, consistent decision-making and effective escalation.
  • Direct privileged investigations and protect attorney-client privilege where applicable.
  • Set a high standard for investigation planning, evidence review, interviews, credibility assessments, findings and reports.
  • Support intake, assessment and staffing so matters are handled consistently, proportionately and at pace.
  • Produce clear, concise and well-reasoned reports, executive summaries and presentations.
  • Improve how we work, including policies, processes, tools, data analytics, AI-enabled efficiencies, training and capability building.
  • Give senior stakeholders timely, balanced and practical updates that connect status, findings, risks, regional context and next steps.
  • Advise on evidence preservation, collection, review and production, with strong governance and defensibility.
  • Help drive meaningful remediation, including personnel action, process improvements and control enhancements.
You will bring
  • Significant experience in complex investigations, enforcement, compliance or related legal work, typically gained over 8+ years.
  • A J.D., equivalent legal qualification or other relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience leading or advising on international investigations involving significant legal, regulatory or compliance risk.
  • Experience with sensitive workplace matters, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, conflicts of interest or other conduct concerns.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to turn complex facts into clear advice, reports and executive communications.
  • Sharp analytical skills, holistic thinking, intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset.
  • Strong ownership and resilience, with the ability to stay focused and make sound judgments amid ambiguity, competing priorities and high-pressure matters.
  • Sound organisational awareness and the ability to build trust, influence across functions and work collaboratively to make good-quality decisions.
  • The maturity and confidence to advise senior stakeholders with discretion, balance and independence.
  • Flexibility to work across time zones on matters with global reach.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
It would be an advantage if you also bring
  • Experience in technology, telecommunications, engineering or another regulated multinational environment.
  • Additional language skills or experience working across multiple legal and cultural environments.
