Job summary

MERJE is seeking an experienced internal audit professional to join a growing client-facing team. The role offers a varied mix of internal audit, controls and risk-focused assignments across different organisations and operating environments.

You will take responsibility for defined areas of work, contribute to planning and reporting, and work directly with stakeholders throughout the engagement lifecycle. This role combines hands-on delivery with advisory exposure and staff development

Qualifications

• Experience in internal audit, risk, assurance or controls testing.
• Qualified or working towards ACCA/CIA or equivalent.
• Ability to own defined workstreams and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills with clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset with constructive challenge.
• Collaborative approach supporting junior colleagues.
• Willingness to travel depending on assignment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver internal audit and controls-based assignments from planning through to reporting.
• Contribute to scoping, risk assessment and testing design.
• Conduct testing, walkthroughs and evidence review across financial, operational and compliance processes.
• Identify control weaknesses and shape practical recommendations.
• Prepare working papers and draft client-facing reports.
• Discuss findings with stakeholders and communicate conclusions clearly.
• Manage your workload across concurrent engagements and update senior colleagues.
• Support and review junior team members and provide day-to-day guidance.
• Contribute to wider team initiatives and business-development activities.
