Job summary

ICAEW is seeking an Internal Audit Assistant Manager for our new Birmingham office. You will lead and deliver internal audit engagements, work with public sector and corporate clients, and help expand our West Midlands practice. The role offers development opportunities and a people‑first, inclusive culture.

You will coach staff, manage budgets and fees, and build strong client relationships while contributing to business development. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• CIA/ACA qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience delivering internal audit across public sector and corporate sectors.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Leading, planning and delivering internal audit engagements for public sector and corporate clients.
• Developing the internal audit team through coaching and mentoring.
• Monitoring budgets and agreeing fees for assignments.
• Managing client relationships to ensure high-quality service.
• Contributing to business development in your sectors.
