Job summary

Hubert Zandberg Interiors in London is seeking a senior interior architect to lead high-end residential and hospitality projects from concept through construction. You will oversee technical packages, coordinate with consultants and manage client expectations on bespoke interiors.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in interior architecture, interior design, architecture or related discipline.
• Six+ years’ professional experience in high-end residential, luxury hospitality or design-led environments.
• Proven experience delivering projects from concept through to construction.
• Strong portfolio of high-end residential and/or hospitality projects with detailing.
• Excellent knowledge of interior architecture, construction detailing and UK Building Regulations.
• Strong understanding of luxury materials, finishes and specialist suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of interior architecture projects from concept through to completion.
• Translate concepts into sophisticated, technically resolved interiors.
• Develop spatial layouts, joinery, kitchens, bathrooms, finishes.
• Produce and oversee technical packages: GA plans, elevations, sections, joinery details.
• Ensure information is accurate and coordinated for the programme.
• Coordinate interior architecture with MEP, lighting, FF&E and other design information.
• Review shop drawings, samples and technical submissions.
• Ensure designs comply with UK Building Regulations and standards.
• Lead or attend client, consultant and contractor meetings as required.
• Present design proposals with clear, confident communication.
• Build strong client relationships and respond to feedback.

High-end residential and hospitality

We are seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented senior interior architect to join our team, working across high-end residential and hospitality projects.

The successful candidate will combine strong design sensibility, technical expertise and project leadership, taking responsibility for projects from concept through to construction and completion. you will work closely with Directors, designers, architects, consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers to deliver refined, bespoke interiors to the highest standard.

The role requires a strong understanding of materials, craftsmanship and technical detailing, alongside the ability to manage programme, resources, budgets and client expectations.

About you

You will be equally comfortable developing a design concept, resolving a complex technical detail, reviewing a joinery shop drawing, leading a client meeting or addressing an issue on site.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership, works collaboratively and is passionate about creating high-quality, bespoke interiors where design, materiality and technical execution are carefully considered.

Key responsibilities

Design and technical delivery:

• lead the development and delivery of interior architecture projects from concept through to completion
• translate creative concepts into sophisticated, technically resolved and buildable interiors
• develop spatial layouts, bespoke joinery, kitchens, bathrooms, architectural details, materials and finishes
• produce and oversee comprehensive technical packages, including GA plans, RCPs, floor finishes, elevations, sections, setting-out and bespoke joinery details
• ensure technical information is accurate, coordinated and issued to programme
• specify high-end materials including stone, timber, metals, glass and specialist finishes
• coordinate interior architecture with architectural, MEP, lighting, FF&E and specialist design information
• review shop drawings, samples, prototypes and technical submissions
• ensure designs comply with UK Building Regulations and relevant standards

Project and client management:

• take ownership of allocated projects, managing design development, deliverables, programme and resources
• work with Directors to plan project resources and ensure deadlines are met within agreed budgets and hours
• contribute to project cost control and ensure design decisions are considered against budget and programme
• lead or attend client, consultant and contractor meetings as required
• present design proposals and communicate design and technical solutions clearly and confidently
• build strong relationships with clients and respond effectively to feedback and changing requirements
• coordinate architects, consultants, contractors, fabricators, joiners and specialist suppliers

Site and snagging

• coordinate with consultants (architect and other professionals, MEP, specialist fabricators, joiners)
• liaise with contractors and artisans on bespoke elements
• attend site visits for snagging to ensure design intent is executed to the highest standard

Team leadership:

• coordinate workloads to meet project programmes and deliverables
• review drawings and design information to maintain a consistently high standard
• mentor and develop junior team members, sharing technical knowledge and best practice
• contribute to design reviews and the continued development of internal processes

Software proficiency:

• AutoCAD – detailed technical drawing packages
• SketchUp – 3D modelling and design development
• Adobe Creative Suite – particularly Photoshop and InDesign
• Microsoft Excel – schedules, documentation and project information
• experience creating CGIs and using AI models is an advantage
