A leading technology services provider in Manchester is seeking a skilled digital designer to craft interaction patterns and collaborate with engineering teams. Candidates should have expert proficiency in Figma and a strong portfolio showcasing interaction design. The role involves producing prototypes, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, and maintaining design consistency. Qualifications

• Expert proficiency in Figma or equivalent design tooling.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating interaction and prototyping work.
• Working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS/Sass.
• Working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS/Sass sufficient to collaborate effectively with front-end engineers.
• Familiarity with front-end JavaScript frameworks and component-based development approaches.
• Understanding of WCAG 2.2 and practical application within interface design.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate prototyping, pattern generation, or design documentation.
• Strong communication skills, with ability to present and justify interaction decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Job Description

• Design detailed interaction patterns, component behaviours, and interface states for digital products and services.
• Produce high-fidelity prototypes to communicate and validate interaction logic with users and developers.
• Define and document micro‑interactions, error states, validation patterns, and edge cases.
• Apply and extend the GOV.UK Design System, contributing reusable patterns where appropriate.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate, accessible implementation of designs.
• Ensure all interface designs meet WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and responsive design requirements.
• Work with UX designers and user researchers to refine interactions based on evidence.
• Maintain design system consistency and contribute to shared component libraries.
• Document interaction specifications clearly to support development handoff.
