Senior Interaction Designer

About the Role

Acorn by Synergie is partnering with a forward-thinking public sector organisation undergoing an ambitious digital transformation. We are seeking an experienced Senior Interaction Designer (SC clearance eligible) to join their dynamic team and help shape user-centric public services at scale. This role requires working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and aligning design efforts with established Government Design Principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with agile teams to craft and refine user-focused digital services, incorporating feedback from service leads and user research insights.
  • Develop prototypes and user interactions spanning multiple platforms and channels, grounding design decisions in data and evidence.
  • Uphold and promote design consistency by utilizing reusable components and established best practices.
  • Lead and support the growth of fellow designers, mentoring them to maintain high standards and encourage continuous development.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience working within agile, multi-disciplinary environments producing iterative, user-centred designs.
  • Expertise in designing accessible, seamless experiences across diverse digital channels.
  • Ability to generate essential design deliverables such as user journeys, service blueprints, and site maps.
  • Proficiency in prototyping tools like Figma, (url removed) Prototype Kit, or Adobe XD.
  • Experience leading or participating in usability testing alongside researchers.
  • Familiarity with the (url removed) Design System and Service Manual, contributing to ongoing improvements in design standards.
  • Active engagement in a design community or practice network.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach other designers on user-centred methodologies.
