Job Opportunity: Senior Instrument Engineer at Nexos

Nexos is seeking a Senior Instrument Engineer to join our Aberdeen team on a permanent basis.

This role involves taking accountability for executing instrument & control engineering activities, ensuring technical quality, budget adherence, and schedule compliance.

Responsibilities include providing instrument & control engineering input into tenders and proposals, improving working practices, supporting workload allocation, supervising discipline personnel, and managing vendor and contractor deliverables aligned with project objectives.

You will maintain project plans, track progress, control costs, and manage scope and schedule changes through the project change control process. Compliance with industry standards, regulations, and procedures is essential, along with supporting estimate and schedule preparation using digital platforms like Slingshot.

Effective communication with project management and multi-discipline teams is crucial. You will review instrument & control work output, ensure proper document filing and approvals, contribute to competency assessments, provide technical support, and uphold engineering processes and procedures.

Regular engagement with Lead and Principal Engineers is expected to address issues and identify improvements. If you have a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach, and a drive for technical excellence, we would love to hear from you.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong technical background and expertise.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and statutory documentation.
  • Experience with commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of engineering.
  • Discipline design experience, including multi-discipline and analytical methods.
  • Proven experience with Fire & Gas (F&G) systems.
  • Familiarity with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
  • Understanding of functional safety standards and SIL.
  • Mandatory offshore certifications (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc.).
