Job description

The Senior Instructional Designer will be responsible for developing and delivering the digital learning programs for the Research Systems Programme.

This role is crucial for the successful implementation and smooth transition to new digital services for all users of our research systems. The post holder will work closely with the Skills and Capability Manager and will have clear management over the digital learning components supporting the new digital service. The candidate should have experience in Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE), instructional design principles, and the creation and delivery of e-learning.

Main Duties of the Job

The postholder will establish a digital training strategy, including:

  • Analyzing core IT skills within the workforce, external stakeholders, and the HRA community to support the new digital service (RSP).
  • Conducting a comprehensive analysis of current training requirements across the HRA landscape, focusing on appropriate learning methodologies for various stakeholders, considering the 70/20/10 model.
  • Focusing on the programme's transition stages as outlined in the roadmap.
  • Delivering training using a mix of face-to-face, self-paced, webinars, and interactive e-learning methods to meet strategic objectives.

The postholder will also provide strategic advice and support on capability, learning, and development to staff, managers, and external stakeholders, fostering a culture that values professionalism.
