Job description

The Senior Instructional Designer will be responsible for the development and delivery of the digital learning programme for the Research Systems Programme.

This role is key to the successful implementation and smooth transition to new digital services for all users of our research systems. The post holder will work closely with the Skills and Capability Manager but will have clear management over the digital learning required to support the new digital service. The candidate should have experience in Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE), instructional design principles, and the design, development, and delivery of e-learning.

Main Duties of the Job

The postholder will develop a digital training strategy, including:

  • Analysis of core IT skills within the workforce, external stakeholders, and the HRA community to support the use of the new digital service (RSP).
  • Comprehensive analysis of current BAU training requirements across the HRA landscape, focusing on appropriate learning methodologies to support various stakeholders, considering the 70/20/10 model.
  • Focus on the programme's transition stages as outlined in the roadmap.
  • Deliver training objectives by optimizing methodologies such as face-to-face learning, self-paced courses, webinars, and interactive e-learning.

Additionally, the postholder will provide strategic capability, learning, and development advice to staff, managers, and external stakeholders, fostering a culture that values professionalism.

Knowledge of online metrics, data analysis, and information governance is essential.
