Job Description:

Scottish Power Renewables are looking for 2 Senior Installation Engineer's to join their East Anglia 2 project.

Role: Senior Installation Engineer x 2 (1x Monopiles 1 x Transition Pieces)

Location: London or Glasgow/hybrid style working

Duration: Initial contract until 31st Dec 2025 with renewal in line with the project

Rate: Inside IR35, Umbrella and PAYE options available

JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Installation Engineer shall be assigned to the East Anglia 2 project and shall be responsible for undertaking project engineering duties to assist with the delivery of the FTI work packages.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Completion of the specific tasks that are identified within package engineering plan.
  • Supervision of Contractor's engineering works and for the review of Contractor's procedures for T&I.
  • Supervision of Contractor's works which may include undertaking the duties of package engineering representatives at Contractor's premises or onboard installation vessels.
  • Review and approval of the as-installed records.
  • Monitor and provide oversight of Installation Activities

In addition to the core responsibilities and accountabilities the Installation Engineer may be delegated additional responsibilities for health and safety management, budgeting, planning, procurement, development of departmental procedures and reporting.

MAIN FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES

Project Management

  • Assist the Installation Manager in the development and implementation of a package engineering plan and management of any internal and external services or resources that are required to deliver the tasks identified within the engineering plan.
  • Coordination of information sharing and document review process between the package management team, the Contractor, any Related Works Contractors, the Marine Warranty Surveyor, the Independent Verification Society, and the Site Management teams.
  • Responsible to complete or organize, as applicable, the administrative tasks needed by the company and project(s) of assignment, related to the planning and execution of installation works.

Procurement

  • Preparation of the technical documentation that is required for inclusion within ITT and EPCI documentation package(s)
  • Technical assessment of bids including: Assessment of T&I solution including consents compliance check Analysis of bidder's programme of work Weather analysis Vessel assurance check Technical risk assessment.

Consents

  • Provision of technical assistance to the consenting team to assist them in discharging the project's consent conditions.
  • Completion of engineering tasks required for the Conceptual Design for T&I.
  • Review of Contractors installation engineering deliverables.
  • Coordination of package specific interface tasks required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the project's Interface Management Plan.
  • Coordination of engineering tasks required for the CVA approval process for Transportation and Installation.

Execution of the Works

  • Review, acceptance, and management of change of the Contractors procedures and engineering studies and analysis.
  • Assist the Installation Manager in managing the Marine Warranty Surveyor approval process.
  • Supervision of Contractor works which may include undertaking the duties of package engineering representatives at Contractor's premises or onboard installation vessels.
  • Review and approval of the as-installed records.
  • Responsible for providing support to the quality manager to ensure satisfactory close out of NCRs relating to transportation and installation.

Knowledge transfer

  • Lessons Learnt from and to other projects of the business.
  • Development of corporate procedures.

EXPERIENCE

  • Specific experience in either Monopile or Transition Piece installations
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in offshore wind or subsea discipline
  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience

Demonstrable experiences in:

  • production of specification and tender documents
  • contracts (/subcontracts) negotiations (technical aspects).
  • construction planning.
  • budgetary estimations.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Working knowledge and understanding of:

UK and European Health and Safety legislation relevant to marine operations.

DNV standards for offshore wind.

Construction planning, Estimations & Risk Management.

Commercial awareness (incl. FIDIC contracts).

Skills:

Management of interfaces of multidisciplinary teams spread across multiple locations.

Ability to implement quality assurance and environmental processes.

Highly developed communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, particularly related to multicultural relationships, and ability to present effectively to management teams.

Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

Advanced user of Microsoft office applications.

Intermediate user of CAD software.
