Job summary

Our client is currently seeking Infrastructure Planner with 5+ years experience to join their dynamic team in Sheffield. This is an opportunity that allows for hybrid working, offering flexibility in office location across the UK.

Key skills required for this role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning team on a diverse range of infrastructure projects
  • Assist with preparing consent applications and take responsibility for specific aspects of projects
  • For smaller projects, manage the delivery according to client objectives and timescales
  • Collaborate with engineers, environmental teams, and communication specialists to lead the planning consenting process from feasibility to implementation
  • Develop and maintain working relationships within the organisation and in external forums

Job Requirements:

  • Degree and/or masters in Town Planning and a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)
  • Good knowledge of relevant planning legislation and planning policy
  • Experience in producing outputs required to support infrastructure consenting or planning policy, such as consents strategies, application documents, and evidence base documents
  • Ability to articulate complex issues concisely, write reports, present effectively, and manage client relationships
  • Proven project management skills with a successful record in planning and delivery of projects or tasks
  • Commercial and financial management skills applicable to profitable project management
  • Experience in business development, including successfully bidding for work
