Senior Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for talented and highly skilled Infrastructure Engineers with experience in designing and implementing public cloud infrastructure solutions to join our community of tech experts.

What skills, knowledge, and significant experience will you need?

1. Significant demonstrable experience in Cloud compute, storage, and configuration, ensuring solutions are repeatable, scalable, resilient, and highly available.
2. Proven ability in the use and administration of source code management systems such as GitLab, including writing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
3. Strong knowledge and practical experience of working with Unix operating systems, container technologies, and container orchestration.
4. Proven ability of writing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), using Terraform, and writing Config-as-Code (CaC) using Ansible. CloudFormation is desirable.
5. Experience of identifying and automating toil where appropriate, to improve efficiency, increase reliability, and reduce repetitive manual tasks.
6. Extensive experience and proven track record of working within Service and Delivery management frameworks (ITIL - Incident, Problem, Change) and Agile methodologies.

Your role

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for Hybrid Cloud Services, you will role model Infrastructure solutions which adhere to best practices, focusing on operational stability, resilience, and availability.

This position will collaborate with Architects, Site Reliability Engineers, Delivery Managers, and Product Managers to support the implementation and operation of Cloud-hosted products and services.

Location: Join us in one of our digital hubs in Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - some time at home, some face-to-face in a hub.

Pay: Competitive pay of up to £68,517.

Pension: A brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth over £16,000 per year.

Holidays: Starting at 26 days, rising to 31 days over time, plus up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time and all public holidays.
