A leading home design company in Swindon is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to oversee cloud and infrastructure operations. This key role requires hands-on technical expertise and the ability to mentor a team. Ideal candidates will have solid experience in infrastructure engineering, diverse Microsoft technologies, and a collaborative spirit. The position includes competitive benefits and the option for remote work part of the week.
At Neptune, our technology underpins everything we do - from seamless operations in our warehouses to delivering exceptional digital experiences for our customers. We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in keeping that technology running smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
As deputy to the Cloud and Infrastructure Manager, you'll provide senior-level technical expertise across cloud, infrastructure, networking, and security, ensuring Neptune's IT estate is robust, scalable, and fit for the future. You'll also act as the primary escalation point for technical issues, supporting both the Infrastructure and Service Desk teams.
In this role, you'll blend hands‑on technical expertise while contributing to strategic infrastructure planning - helping Neptune evolve its infrastructure platforms while keeping everyday operations running seamlessly.
Day to day, you provide technical oversight of the Neptune infrastructure, acting as a senior escalation point for complex issues and delivering 3rd line support. You will also mentor team members to develop their technical capabilities.
Sector experience in Retail, Manufacturing, Warehouse Distribution, or Digital Marketing would be an advantage.
An approachable, confident, and collaborative nature - a natural problem solver who thrives under pressure.
Highly organised and structured, remaining calm when managing competing priorities.
A clear communicator able to build trust and influence across both technical and non‑technical teams.
Genuine enthusiasm for technology and continuous improvement - always looking for smarter, more efficient ways to work.
This role is based at our stunning offices in Swindon, Wiltshire, with home remote working part of the week. You'll bring a willingness to travel and occasionally work evenings, weekends, or on‑call as part of a rotational schedule.
Please note that we are unable to accept speculative CV's for this role from recruitment agencies.
