Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Are you a Civil Infrastructure Engineer looking to grow your expertise and make a difference on projects across the world? Buro Happold is looking to recruit an Associate Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Group at our recently opened office in London. This is a permanent position for a senior engineer.

You will join us as a Senior Engineer, a key member of our Civil Infrastructure team, responsible for supporting the delivery of our diverse portfolio of projects as well as mentoring junior team members. Our exciting pipeline of current and planned projects will give you the chance to lead entire schemes or serve as the infrastructure lead for major international projects.

We have experience working with various clients, countries, and project types, including sports and entertainment arenas, stadia, aviation campus developments, large-scale masterplanning, and complex brownfield schemes. Our work offers a broad range of project experiences during your career.

Your next role:

• Be part of a team that handles technically demanding projects and challenges
• Lead industry changes such as reducing embodied carbon and adopting modern infrastructure design methods

Key Duties:

• Support multidisciplinary project delivery, review civil infrastructure designs from proposal to construction
• Manage technical staff, contribute to planning, and mentor junior team members
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and schedules
• Participate in work-winning activities to secure new projects

Skills and Experience:

• Strong background in infrastructure design with proven expertise in a core discipline (Highways, Utilities, or Sustainable Drainage)
• Willingness to travel and commitment to continuous quality improvement
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civils D, and MicroDrainage
• Membership in a relevant professional institution

Additional experience in specific infrastructure disciplines like highways or water supply networks is also welcome.
