Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Leeds, Yorkshire and the Humber, United Kingdom

Type: Permanent, Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + £5,000 on-call

Fruition IT has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join an organization on a 5-year AWS cloud transformation journey.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to be part of a cloud transformation to AWS. You will work on a mix of project-based work and 3rd line support, managing a large environment of approximately 3,000 Windows servers and a small footprint of Linux servers.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, and implement IT infrastructure solutions related to compute, virtualization, containerization (on-premise & cloud), load balancers, primary storage, and backup systems.
• Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to ensure infrastructure aligns with business needs.
• Provide out-of-hours support on a rota basis and be available for occasional planned out-of-hours work.
• Provide leadership and support for the IT Infrastructure Manager when necessary.

Security Responsibilities:

• Manage OS patches and updates.
• Review logs for unauthorized activity.
• Administer Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Address reported vulnerabilities.

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP) and Linux (RedHat & Oracle).
• Skills in Microsoft SCOM, SCCM, DPM, WSUS, Intune, Defender, Patch My PC, and Hyper-V for managing over 1000 servers.
• Experience supporting both on-premise and AWS platforms.
• Automation skills with tools like Ansible, Python, and PowerShell are a plus.
• Experience mentoring team members.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or similar Microsoft certifications.
• AWS certifications such as Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
