Job Title: Senior Engineer – Network and Cloud Infrastructure
Location: London
Contract: 9 months
Salary:Competitive
Working: Onsite 2-3 days per week

Our Client

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer specialising in network appliances and cloud infrastructure. The successful candidate will contribute to designing, implementing and maintaining secure and scalable systems, with a focus on F5 load balancers, firewall platforms and AWS environments within a DevOps framework. The role involves close collaboration with security, development and operations teams to support and enhance infrastructure capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage F5 appliances within AWS environments
• Configure and maintain Palo Alto and CheckPoint firewall platforms in enterprise settings
• Develop and support AWS infrastructure ensuring availability, security and performance
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI tools
• Automate infrastructure provisioning through Terraform and Ansible
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise network and system performance across hybrid environments
• Collaborate with teams to apply DevSecOps principles and ensure compliance
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
• Document network topologies, configurations and processes

Experience

• Extensive hands-on experience with F5 load balancers
• Strong knowledge of Palo Alto and CheckPoint firewalls
• Practical experience with AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM and Transit Gateway
• Skilled with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Terraform and Ansible
• Strong scripting skills using Bash or Python
• Experience in production system management, preferably in regulated or high-availability environments
• Proven ability to mentor junior team members is desirable

Qualifications

• Relevant technical certifications or equivalent practical experience
• Security clearance eligibility or possession (SC minimum) is essential
